The image is carried on a flat enlarged plate which is flooded with ink and the surplus wiped off. A soft, silicone rubber pad lifts the ink from the image and transfers it across to the item being printed. The inks used are very similar to screen inks but they are shorter (have less flow) and are slower drying so that drying in the cells is avoided. Used for printing variable shaped items: watches, auto car parts, toys, stationery, etc. Material are metal, wooden, ceramic, glass, etc.
